Camel rides in Agadir
A slow, swaying hour or two through eucalyptus forest to the flamingo river — in traditional dress, with your own photographer-guide.
The flagship ride
Not the desert — something greener
Let's be honest: this is not a Sahara dune trek. It's better suited to an afternoon — a river-and-forest ride on the edge of Agadir. Your camel carries you out of our ranch in Aghroud Bensergao, through village lanes, under tall eucalyptus, and onto the banks of the Oued Souss estuary, where migratory flamingos often gather on the water.
- Traditional blue gandoura and turban to wear — included, and very photogenic
- Your guide takes photos and videos with your phone at the best spots
- Flamingos are often spotted at the estuary (seasonal — never guaranteed)
- Mint tea, often with Moroccan pastries, back at the ranch
- A baby camel sometimes tags along with the caravan
Who it's for
First-timers, couples, families
Never ridden anything?
Perfect. Camels kneel for you to climb on, the pace is a gentle sway, and a guide walks with the caravan the whole way. Guests who arrived “absolutely terrified” left wanting to do it again.
Couples
Share a camel or ride side by side, and let your guide play photographer. The sunset departure over the estuary is the one honeymooners write home about.
Families
Bring the kids — tell us their ages and we'll suggest the right setup, including shorter family rides. And say hello to the lambs, goats and baby camels at the ranch while you're here.
What happens, step by step
Your camel ride, hour by hour
- Pickup. Your taxi collects you at your hotel — we send the driver's name and number in advance.
- Meet your camel. At the ranch you'll meet the team and the animals; many guests get introduced to the baby camels first.
- Dress up. Blue gandoura, turban tied by the guides — free to wear for the whole ride.
- Ride out. Village lanes → eucalyptus forest → the open banks of the Souss estuary. Around 1–2 hours in the saddle.
- The river. Pause for photos over the water; in season, watch for flamingos.
- Tea. Back at the ranch: mint tea, pastries, and time to chat before your taxi returns you to your hotel.
Prices vary by group size, ride length and season — message us on WhatsApp for today's exact price. Our bookable product on Tripadvisor/Viator starts from $24 per adult with free cancellation up to 24 hours. See it on Tripadvisor.

What riders say
We spent a wonderful hour and a half on the camel tour, where we were lucky enough to see flamingos along the river.
Enjoyed riding the camels, also gave us traditional Moroccan clothing to wear, also had a great scenic view of the Agadir River.
We even had a cute calf accompany our caravan of camels.
